KEYS’ Fall season is off to a Flying Start!

We believe that neighbourhood opportunities for knowledge and work / volunteer / social experiences are KEYS to the successful creation of strong, vibrant communities which include people of ALL abilities.

As such, the 3 pillars of KEYS are:
• Ongoing Learning / the Arts
• Work / Volunteer Experiences
• Social / Recreation / Fitness

Our Fall Session is in full swing with personal goals being set and new learning opportunities explored – but first a quick glance at this summer’s highlights:

Lunch’n Learn: Our rooftop garden (grazie to Pasquale for your plants) yielded yummy tomatoes and herbs that were featured in our summer salads! Lasagna roll-ups and homemade chicken fingers were a huge hit.

Community Contributors: group volunteering continued at the Re-Store where KEYS is a regular helper dusting, sorting, and of course smiling 🙂

Excursions to the Aquarium, a horse farm, bowling and then a visit to the Ex was a great way to end the summer – navigating the TTC, games, rides and of course good eats!

Now KEYS is back to its regular Monday through Friday schedule opening doors for continual growth and self-development.

Kristina leads our young adults with wonderful staff support, all of whom are also expert Job Coaches for KEYS’ Community Contributors. Volunteer placements are arranged in the Junction neighbourhood by KEYS to create win / win situations for business owners and our young adults who have so much to offer.

Each week offers a variety of activities co-planned by our participants to include the YMCA, Art with Alex, yoga, Zumba, music and more. Everyone looks forward to the specially themed workshops – be they on “Keeping your Cool”, “Empower Me” fitness or Workplace Success”.

A highlight of each month is our Community Lunch where KEYS’ participants showcase their cooking skills with local friends and supporters to celebrate healthy eating, community and friendship.
